The Railroad Commission is governed by three commissioners, each elected stat-wide for six-year terms. This year the race is between Democrat Jon Rosenthal and Bo French, who defeated the incumbent Jim Wright in the Republican primary.
Jon Rosenthal served eight years in the Texas House of representatives, has experience as a drilling rig equipment engineer and a subsea technology systems engineer. He wants to partner with industry to increase weatherization of the gas midstream segment; lobby the Legislature to increase funding for plugging of orphan wells; increase required security bonds required of operators without a responsible history; and return some local control of well drilling in municipalities.
Bo French has called for the denaturalization and deporation of 100 million Americans. He says two state Representatives, Salman Bhojani and Gene Wu, should be denaturalized and deported. He is an advocate of the “great replacement theory,” promoting a comspiracy by liberals or a secret cable to replace descendants of white settlers with immigrants. He wants to deregulate the oil and gas industry.
